Results of our studies

MOSCOW, 22 September 2022. Russian Public Opinion Research Center (VCIOM) presents the findings of a survey among the Donbass and Luhansk residents staying in Russia on their willingness to take part in referendums to join Russia; the survey was commissioned by the Social Research Expert Institute (EISI).

Most of residents of the Donbass and Luhansk staying in Russia say they are likely to take part in referendums to join Russia if they take place next Sunday (84%). Ten percent of respondents are likely not to take part in the voting. A further 6% failed to give an answer or have not decided yet.

A vast majority of respondents who are willing to take part in the voting would like DNR and LNR to be incorporated into Russia after the special military operation (95%). Three percent of respondents would like the republics to be independent; 2% remain undecided.

 

The study was conducted on September 20, 2022 through a telephone survey using telephone databases. The target audience: inhabitants of DNR and LNR aged 18 and older who are in Russia (including temporary settlements). Non-systematic sample: 537 respondents.
