MOSCOW, November 12, 2007 Russian Public Opinion Research Center (VCIOM) presents information concerning how many voters are going to participate in the elections to the State Duma on December 2, 2007.

75% of respondents are planning to take part in the upcoming elections to the State Duma of the Russian Federation, 35% of them are absolutely sure of that they will participate and 40% mention that they are most likely to go vote. 68% of respondents spoke of their willingness to vote only a month and a half ago, whereas no more than 31% were absolutely sure of the fact.

The share of those who will definitely go to the voting station is growing the older the respondents are: starting from 30-32% among the respondents up to 44 years old, 35% in the group of 45-59 years old and reaching 47% in the group of pensioners.

If one analyzes the situation in the separate regions of the country, the declared electoral activity of the residents of the regional center in the Rostov area is at the same level as in other settlements (31% in each of them are sure, that they will participate in the elections); whereas in the Tyumen area and Khabarovsk territory the activity of the regional centers' residents is lower than that in small towns and villages. Thus, the share of those who, as they say, will definitely come to the polling stations, reaches 33% in Tyumen itself, whereas in other towns and villages of the area it is as high as 41%. In Khabarovsk territory as a whole the electoral activity lower, thus, 18% of residents in Khabarovsk are sure, that they will go to vote, in other settlements of the territory the share amounts to 29%.

The electoral activity of KPRF supporters is higher (52% of them are going to participate in the elections) than that of the "Fair Russia" (49%) or "Unified Russia" (46%) voters and especially than that of the LDPR supporters (34%).

The initiative All-Russia opinion poll was conducted by VCIOM in October 6-7, 2007. 1600 respondents were interviewed in 153 population areas of 46 regions of Russia. The statistical error does not exceed 3.4%.

The initiative regional opinion polls were conducted by VCIOM in October 2007 in Khabarovsk territory, Rostov and Tyumen areas. 1000 respondents were interviewed in each of the regions. The statistical error does not exceed 3.4%.
