IN BRIEF

MOSCOWJuly 31, 2009. Russian Public Opinion Research Center (VCIOM) presents the data about the attitudes of Russians towards the resolution adopted by the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) equaling Stalinist and Nazi crimes, and what Russians think the resolution aims at.

Disapproval is mainly shown by supporters of LDPR party (69%), residents of the Volga District (59%), elderly citizens and respondents with low level of education (64% and 58% respectively). Only every tenth perceive this resolution positively  (11%) - they are mostly supporters of CPRF (14%) and such parties as  "Yabloko", Pravoe Delo" and "Patriots of Russia" (18%), and Siberians (20%). Only every fifth report the resolution is designed to pay tribute to all victims of totalitarian regimes (21%).
