More than one-third of Russians cannot say how Russian government should use the Olympics budget (34%). However, many Russians support the idea to allocate money without restrictions rather than cutting costs (28% versus 21% respectively). Those who propose to turn to private investors and population for deficient amount for help are in the minority (9%).
Those who support the idea to allocate money for Olympics from budget without restrictions are Siberians and Far-easterners first of all (36 and 38% respectively), adherents of the United Russia and Fair Russia parties (31 and 30% respectively), and respondents with high financial income (32%). Those who oppose the idea are residents of North-Western Federal district (27%) and CPRF party supporters (30%).
