Russians feel happier communicating with friends and relatives, rather than in their sexual life. However, over the recent three years the number of those who feel happier in sex has increased three-fold!
MOSCOW, April 6, 2012. Russian Public Opinion Research Center (VCIOM) presents the data concerning the emotions that Russians have in sexual life and communicating with relatives.
Russians tend to assess their sexual life positively: 18% recognize happiness (in 1999 – only 6%); other 40% are satisfied. Those who express this point of view are basically men (21% - happiness, 47%- satisfaction), rather than women (16 and 34%, respectively). The number of those who are not pleased with their sexual relationship has decreased (4%), as well as those who do not have any special emotions about that (12%). Russians who have a de facto marriage are more pleased with their sexual life (24% - happiness, 55% - satisfaction). Among those who are officially married and those who are not married the degree of satisfaction is almost the equal.
Communicating with close friends and relatives brings much more positive emotions: 38% - happiness (12% in 1999), 50% - satisfaction. Most of them are younger than 35. Metropolitan residents and rural area residents are equally satisfied with their relations with close friends and relatives.
The initiative Russian opinion polls were conducted March 31 – April 1, 2011. 1600 respondents were interviewed at 138 sampling points in 46 regions of Russia. The margin of error does not exceed 3.4%.
