Russia needs an experienced politician. Russians believe that V. Putin is an active, sensible and strong leader.
MOSCOW, October 25, 2012. Russian Public Opinion Research Center (VCIOM) presents the data describing the attitudes of Russians concerning the following questions: what kind of president, young or older, do Russians need? what personality traits does Putin have?
Almost two-thirds of Russians are confident that Russia`s leader should be of age and experienced, rather than young (60 versus 33, respectively). The age and experience is prized high basically by those who approve of the performance of V. Putin as president (67%), supporters of United Russia and CPRF parties (67, for each), retired persons (70%) and those who do not use the Internet (65%). On the contrary, a young president is preferred by those who are not satisfied with the work of Putin as president (41%), supporters of non-parliament parties (54%), respondents aged under 35 (37-40%) and those who use the Internet very often (36-37%).
Russians see Vladimir Putin as an active person (85%), physically strong (83%) and sensible (82%). Respondents also regard him as a wise (69%) and charming (64%) person and a cutting-edge leader (53%). According to two-thirds of respondents, the president of Russia is currently in his prime (62%).
The initiative Russian opinion polls were conducted on October 13-14, 2012. 1600 respondents were interviewed at 138 sampling points in 46 regions of Russia. The margin of error does not exceed 3.4%.
