MOSCOW, March 25, 2010. Russian Public Opinion Research Center (VCIOM) presents the data concerning the assessment by Russians the work of ministers.
Sergey Shoygu still remains the leader in a level of assessment by Russians - his activity is appreciated by 73% of respondents. The second place in rating goes to Sergey Lavrov (53%). Then Sergey Ivanov goes but his popularity is constantly falling (39%). They are followed by Viktor Zubkov (32%), Tatiana Golikova (31%), Rashid Nurgaliev (30%), Alexei Kudrin (27%), Anatoliy Serdyukov (23%), Elvira Nabiullina (19%).
The least approved minister is Vitaliy Mutko (his work is assessed negatively by 39% of Russians), replacing Andrei Fursenko (33%). The third place is divided between Alexei Kudrin and Rashid Nurgaliev (28%). As well Russians are onclined to estimate negatively the work of Viktor Khristenko and Sergey Shmatko (25%).
Elena Skrynnik appointed as Minister of Agriculture last year is still little known - 66% of Russians first heard about her in this poll - probably that's why she is given low level of endorsement (13%). It is the same with Alexander Khloponin - he is unknown to 72% of respondents, his activity is approved by only 15%. Other little known members of the Government are Igor Sechin (75%), Viktor Basargin (74%), Igor Shuvalov (71%), Alexander Avdeev and Sergey Sobyanin (69%), Alexander Zhukov and Yuri Trutnev (68%), Alexander Konovalov (67%).
During the last year the approval level of Sergey Lavrov (from 58 to 53%), Rashid Nurgaliev (from 35 to 30%), Sergey Ivanov (from 49 to 39%), Viktor Zubkov (from 42 to 32%), Elvira Nabiullina (from 23 to 19%) decreased. On the contrary there are fewer respondents who negatively assess work of Alexei Kudrin (from 34 to 28%), Viktor Khristenko (from 29 to 25%). Elena Skrynnik was assessed higher than her predecessor Alexei Gordeev: the level of disapproval of Agriculture Minister fell from 32 to 21%.
The initiative Russian opinion poll was conducted on March 6-7, 2010. 1600 respondents were interviewed at 140 sampling points in 42 regions of Russia. The margin of error does not exceed 3.4 %.
