21 October 2021. VCIOM presents the findings of a survey devoted to the anti-COVID policies among Russians.
VCIOM asked Russians about their attitudes towards anti-COVID measures taken in different Russian regions:
- 64% of Russians are likely to support compulsory vaccination against COVID-19 among all the healthcare workers (31% are likely not to support);
- 56% of Russians are likely to support mandatory QR codes proving vaccination against the coronavirus, proof of recent recovery from COVID-19 disease (six months) or negative PCR test to access public gatherings and public places (40% are likely not to support; of the vaccinated Russians, 74% support and 24% do not support this measure);
- 55% are likely to agree that up to 80% of employees should be vaccinated (40% are likely not to support).
Russians also told how they would perceive certain anti-COVID measures in case of a serious deterioration of the epidemiological situation:
- 73% are likely to support giving two days off to employees for each vaccine component if they go through vaccination (21% are likely not to support);
- 68% are likely to support compulsory vaccination against COVID-19 among federal executive branch employees, governmental bodies, enterprises and companies including security agencies (26% are likely not to support);
- 64% are likely to support showing a document (QR code) proving vaccination against the coronavirus, proof of recent recovery from COVID-19 disease (six months) or negative PCR test to be able to buy air tickets to other countries and Russian regions (32% are likely not to support).
Russian nationwide survey was conducted on October 19-20, 2021. A total of 1,600 of Russians aged 18 and older took part in the survey. Results are based on telephone interviews. Stratified dual-frame random sample based on a complete list of Russian landline and mobile phone numbers was used. The data were weighted according to selection probability and social and demographic characteristics. The margin of error at a 95% confidence level does not exceed 2.5%. In addition to sampling error, minor changes to the wording of questions and different circumstances arising during the fieldwork can introduce bias into the survey.
Now I am going to read a list of measures introduced in several Russian regions due to the current epidemiological situation.
