MOSCOW, October 30, 2007 Russian Public Opinion Research Center (VCIOM) presents information concerning how Russians evaluate the three parties that the Central Election Committee of the Russian Federation has refused to register as participants in the elections to the State Duma of Russia that are to take place on December 2nd this year.

In an electoral rating these three parties received no more than 1% of votes each in June-October. Thus, "People's Union" did not even manage to gain 1% of vote for the last five months. 1% of respondents expressed their willingness to give their votes to the "Russian political party of Peace and Unity" twice, in the rest of the 19% cases the party's electorate amounted to less than 1%. The Russian ecological party "The Greens" gathered 1% of votes 9 times since June this year; 12 times the electorate did not reach 1 %.

A similar situation has taken place with these parties' information rating. The "People's Union" has stably drawn the attention of less than 1% of respondents for the last five months. "The Russian political party of Peace and Unity" managed to gather 1% of votes once during the same period of time, whereas in the other 20 cases it only received less than 1%. The Russian ecological party "The Greens" drew the attention of 1% of respondents four times; in the other 17 cases it gathered less than 1% of the respondents' votes.

The majority of respondents (from 70% up to 88%) do not know the politicians from the federal part of these three parties' lists. The attitude to politician number 1 on the party list of the Russian ecological party "The Greens" A. Panfilov is similar to the attitude to number one of "People's Union" S. Baburin: 70% of respondents do not know them; 12-13% treat them with indifference, 3-4% with interest; 1% with sympathy, 3% with antipathy; 2% with respect, 1% with condemnation.

Other politicians from the first three of "The Greens" S. Konegen and V. Semenov are not known to 78-80% of respondents; 9% of respondents speak of their indifference to them; no more than 2% of respondents are eager to express any other emotions towards them.

Politicians from the first three of the "People's Union" V. Alksnis and A. Batanov are not known to 84-86% of Russians; 6-7% treat them with indifference.

Leaders of the "Russian political party of Peace and Unity" are still less known to respondents. 80% have never heard of the number one on their list S. Umalatova, 88% of respondents are not familiar with numbers 2 and 3 N.Tyrin and E.Veduta; 4-7 % are indifferent to them.

The initiative All-Russia opinion poll was conducted by VCIOM in June-October 2007. 1600 respondents were interviewed in 153 population areas of 46 regions of Russia. The statistical error does not exceed 3.4%.
