The ranking of the United Russia party has stabilised and has an upward trend.

MOSCOW, May 6, 2016.  Russian Public Opinion Research Centre (VCIOM) presents the data of the survey devoted to the electoral rating of Russian parties.

The United Russia party is at the top of the rating of electoral preferences. The April approval rating of this party has increased from 47.4% (46.0% in March, according to monthly average readings).

The approval rating of the CPRF was 8.4-8.8% in December and February; a slight increase in support was recorded in March (up to 10.3%); in April the average meaning was 9.6%. The LDPR’s position has strengthened over half a year: the support level has increased from 6.5% to 9.6%. “A Just Russia” party has gained approvals: from 5.3% to 6.2%, respectively. Non-parliamentary parties’ average approvals rating made up 4.9% in April (4.3% in December).

The VCIOM survey is conducted in December 2015 – April 2016. The survey is based on community-based formalized face-to-face interviews and involves 1600 respondents, aged 18 and over. The margin of error is 3.5% at the 95% confidence level. The survey is conducted with multi-stage stratified sample based on general rule of walking and quotas at the final selection stage (representative Russian sample include sex, age, education and type of settlement). Apart from the margin of error, minor changes in question wording and different circumstances arising during the field work should be taken into account.
