9 September 2021. VCIOM presents the data of a survey among the Crimea’s inhabitants on their satisfaction with the situation in Crimea.
Three-quarters of Crimeans are generally satisfied with the life they are living now (77%); they are opposed by 20% of respondents.
The top three spheres Crimeans are happy with looks as follows. Seventy-three percent of respondents are satisfied with the state of the roads (50% in 2019; +23 p.p.); 84% consider that the situation in this sphere has improved over seven years. Sixty-seven percent of respondents are happy with public amenities in the settlements (52% in 2019; +15 p.p.); 77 consider that the situation in this sphere has improved over seven years. Fifty-eight percent of Crimeans are satisfied with the availability of kindergartens (51% in 2019; +7 p.p.); 51% consider that the situation in this sphere has improved over seven years.
An overwhelming majority of the Crimea’s inhabitants (84%) assess the performance of V.Putin in a positive way; 9% have negative views.
Seventy percent of Crimeans trust Sergey Aksenov, the head of the republic; 17% distrust him.
Russian nationwide VCIOM-Sputnik survey was conducted on August 11-12, 2021. A total of 1,600 of residents of Crimea and Sevastopol aged 18 and older took part in the survey. Results are based on telephone interviews. The data were weighted according to selection probability and social and demographic characteristics. The margin of error at a 95% confidence level does not exceed 2.5%. In addition to sampling error, minor changes to the wording of questions and different circumstances arising during the fieldwork can introduce bias into the survey.
