Russians support the basic ideas of Vladimir Putin stated in his article on national problem.


MOSCOW, February 1, 2012. Russian Public Opinion Research Center (VCIOM) presents the data describing how Russians assess the Putin`s initiatives concerning migration policy and interethnic relations.

 

Generally Russians positively assess the policies of V.Putin concerning interethnic relations and migration issues. The most appreciated idea is the initiative to predict the growth of isolated ethnic enclaves (79%).

 

This is followed by the initiative to toughen the migration law and introduce criminal responsibility for violation of migration laws (77%).  

Seventy-five percent of respondents also support the idea to toughen the norms of registration and penalties for violations.

Russians less approve of the idea to introduce exam for migrants on Russian language, history, law - 67% of Russians agree with this proposition.

The initiative Russian opinion polls were conducted January 28-29, 2011. 1600 respondents were interviewed at 138 sampling points in 46 regions of Russia. The margin of error does not exceed 3.4%.
