The situation in the housing and communal services sector is the most important problem that Russians were worried about in June. The second problem being important for Russians is inflation.
MOSCOW, July 4, 2012. Russian Public Opinion Research Center (VCIOM) presents the data describing the problems that Russians are worried about.
The situation in the housing and communal services sector is the most disturbing issue (52%). The top three problems involve alcoholism and drug addiction (49%), and low living standards (48%). Russians think that such problems as inflation (46%), corruption and bureaucracy (43%), unemployment (41%), situation in health care system (40%) are also urgent. Less important problems are pension provision (33%), youth (31%), crime (28%), situation in education system (27%), morality and ethics (24%), ecological situation (23%) influence of oligarchs on the life in the country (20%), and state of economy (19%).
As before, the least important problems, according to Russians, are terrorism (15%), demographic situation (13%), situation in the army (11%), observance of democracy and human rights, delay in paying salaries (9%, for each).
Compared to May, Russians are more and more concerned about the situation in the housing sector (from 49 to 52%), as well as inflation (from 44 to 46%). On the contrary, the share of Russians who are worried about corruption and state of youth is decreasing (from 50% in March to 43% in June; from 35 to 31% over a month).
The initiative Russian opinion polls were conducted June 30 to July 1, 2012. 1600 respondents were interviewed at 138 sampling points in 46 regions of Russia. The margin of error does not exceed 3.4%.
