Top officials'` ratings returned to the previous high positions after a slight decrease during wildfires and smog
MOSCOW, September 2, 2010. Russian Public Opinion Research Center (VCIOM) presents national political institutions` and electoral ratings measured in August.
Presidential approval rating made up for 68% in the last week of August. After a slight decline in the first week of August that saw wildfires and smog (from 72 to 66%), the approval rating has been constantly going up over the recent three weeks. Currently, Russian president`s approval rating is equaled to this year June`s points. Dmitry Medvedevelectoral rating is 48%.
Prime Minister`s approval rating has also been stable over the recent two weeks (72-73%). Prime Minister`s rating, as well as President`s rating, has slightly declined during abnormal heat and wildfires.
The approval rating of Russian Government performance has been increasing over the recent four weeks (from 47 to 49%). Thus, a slight decline in the first week of August (from 49 to 47%) was later leveled off.
At the same time, the approval rating of the State Duma has been declining during August (from 35 to 27%). The same thing can be applied to the Federal Council`s approval rating (from 35 to 27%).
Electoral rating of the United Russia party has been stable over the recent five weeks and fluctuating within 50-51 percentage points. The proportions of such parties as CPRF, LDPR and Fair Russia have also been stable (7%, 5% and 4% respectively).
The initiative Russian opinion polls were conducted on August 28-29, 2010. 1600 respondents were interviewed at 140 sampling points in 42 regions of Russia. The margin oferror does not exceed 3.4%.
