MOSCOW, 6 October 2023. Russian Public Opinion Research Center (VCIOM) presents the findings of a study commissioned by Social Research Expert Institute (EISI) and devoted to how the Russians assess the performance of the Russian President Vladimir Putin.
On October 7, Vladimir Putin, Russian president, is turning 71. VCIOM has conducted a survey on how the Russians perceive the current head of the Russian state. The findings show that Vladimir Putin is viewed as a calm (89%), active, dynamic (87%), strong-willed and determined (86%), and wise (80%) person. Almost three-quarters of the respondents describe him as an honest, decent (74%) and a just (73%) person; a further 72% also point out his ability to listen to others and respect other people’s opinions.
According to 7 out of 10 Russians, Vladimir Putin does a lot for Russia and its people (72%); 21% oppose this viewpoint.
Three-quarters of the Russians are confident that V.Putin is capable of maintaining stability in Russia (74%) and its development (74%). They are opposed by 18% and 19%, respectively.
Most of the Russians believe that Vladimir Putin fits the position of the Russian president better than other politicians (79%).
VCIOM-Sputnik all-Russian telephone survey was commissioned by EISI and conducted September 4,11,18 and 25, October 4 in 2023. A total of 1,600 respondents aged 18 and older took part in the survey. Survey method: telephone interviews, stratified random sample based on a complete list of mobile phone numbers in use in Russia. The data were weighted for socio-demographic characteristics. The margin of error at a 95% confidence level does not exceed 2.5%. In addition to sampling error, minor changes to the wording of questions and different circumstances arising during the fieldwork can introduce bias into the survey.
