Over four months of the Mikhail Prokhorov`s leadership of the Right Cause party the rating of the party has almost not changed, staying at 1%.
MOSCOW, Septembre 16, 2011. Russian Public Opinion Research Center (VCIOM) presents the data describing whether the performance of M. Prokhorov influenced the electoral support of the Right Cause (Pravoe Delo) party during the time he led it.
Over four months of being the head of the right party Prokhorov, who began with 1% of electoral support, has failed to substantially raise his rating. The only time his rating was close to 2% was September 10-11 this year; other measurements were within 1-1.45%. The rise of the popularity of the right wing party due to advertising and information campaign of Prokhorov has not led to to the popularity of the “right” ideas and their public support over the period.
According to the recent electoral forecast conducted by VCIOM the Right Cause party could gain 4.9% of voices at the forthcoming parliamentary elections, i.e. it overcame neither 7%, nor 6% or 5% party vote barrier. The right-wing forecast which is overrated compared to the current ratings has become the result of the consensus forecast of experts who expressed high estimates of Prokhorov`s chances.
VCIOM`s representative polls are being conducted every weekend. 1600 respondents are interviewed at 138 sampling points in 46 regions of Russia. The margin of error does not exceed 3.4%.
The VCIOM`s forecast is based upon Russian opinion and expert polls and is calculated in August 2011.
