MOSCOW, November 19, 2007 Russian Public Opinion Research Center (VCIOM) presents information concerning how Russians evaluate the election campaign TV advertising of the political parties.

The influence of the election campaign advertising has not become significant yet. The majority of respondents (59% to 86% depending on the party) have not seen (or did not remember that they had) any TV political party advertising. The TV audience could best of all remember the advertisements made by "Unified Russia": 36% of respondents admitted to have already seen them. 25% of respondents have watched the LDPR advertisements, 22% those of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation, and 21% those of "Fair Russia". Advertisements shown for the Union of Right Forces and "Yabloko" (18% and 16%), as well as for the "Patriots of Russia" and the Agrarian party (14% and 12%) turned out to be less memorable. No more than 7-9% of respondents have watched the advertisements for the "Civilian Power", Democratic Party of Russia or the Party of Social Justice.

The respondents, planning to go to the elections to the State Duma on December 2nd, as a rule, show more interest to the propaganda materials of the political parties, than those who are not going to participate; and the respondents who have already decided, for what political party they will vote are more involved than those who find it hard to specify their party preferences. Thus, 39% of potential voters and only 25% of those who are not going to vote in the elections have seen the advertisement promoting "Unified Russia" as well as 40% of those who have already defined their party preferences for themselves and 26% of those who have not done this yet, did.

As of the current moment the audience stated that they most of all like the advertisements in favour of "Unified Russia": 71% of the respondents who have seen them mention, that they liked the ads, 16% did not like them. As for "Fair Russia", half of respondents estimate with a "plus" sign, whereas a third characterizes them with a "minus" sign. TV advertisements of LDPR, the Communist Party of the Russian Federation and the Union of Right Forces receive 38-39% of positive estimations and a little bit more - 43-47 % of negative ones. The audience least of all liked the ads for "Yabloko" (+27%,-57%).

Advertisements for "Unified Russia" and "Fair Russia" are to a greater extent aimed at the potential voter: 75% and 53% among them positively evaluate these ads (47% and 29% of the respondents not going to the elections respectively). Whereas only 39% of potential voters who have seen them and 42% of the absentists liked the ads made for the Union of Right Forces.

The televiewers, who found it hard to provide an answer to the question of  what party they would vote for in the parliamentary elections, most often like the ads of "Unified Russia" (57%), "Fair Russia" and "Patriots of Russia" (50% each).

The initiative All-Russia opinion poll was conducted by VCIOM in November 9-10, 2007. 1600 respondents were interviewed in 153 population areas of 46 regions of Russia. The statistical error does not exceed 3.4%.
