During the 2011 parliament elections the United Russia party lost public support. A year later the United Russia completely recovered, whereas the opposition lost all its gains.

MOSCOW, November 9, 2012. Russian Public Opinion Research Center (VCIOM) presents the electoral ratings of the Russian parties.  

The rating of  United Russia party was decreasing in late 2011 and reached the lowest point in December (35%). From January to April there was an increase up to 50% following a new decrease to 44% in the period between May and August. In autumn the United Russia party strengthened its position and its the rating reached 48% by November.

In the end of 2011 there was a surge of electoral support of CPRF party: its rating has increased from 12% in November to 16% in December. However, the party failed to stay at the same level, and its rating decreased by 10% in July 2012. During the autumn the rating was fluctuating between 11 and 12 %.

The LDPR rating showed increase in the end of 2011 though slight (from 8% in August to 11% in December 2011). During the winter and spring of 2012 the level of public support has decreased to 6% (April) and has stayed at the same level till now.

There was a substantial growth in public support of A Just Russia party in autumn and winter of 2011 (from 4% in October to 10% in December). However, the growth was reduced up to 5% by April. The rating of the party made up 4% in the beginning of November.

Yabloko party also showed a positive trend in late 2011: the level of support reached 3%. However, this figure started to go down this year and returned to 1%.

Other non-parliament parties, both old and new, have not gone beyond 1%.

The initiative Russian opinion polls were conducted on November 3-4, 2012. 1600 respondents were interviewed at 138 sampling points in 46 regions of Russia. The margin of error does not exceed 3.4%.
