MOSCOW, March 07, 2008 Russian Public Opinion Research Center (VCIOM) presents information on what qualities Russians mostly appreciate in men and women.Just as it was seven years ago, respondents most of all value in men such qualities as decency and intellect (they are now indicated by 68% and 66% of respondents). The second place belongs to faithfulness, thrift and attentiveness (40-41%). Respondents less often accentuate the skill to resist hardships (29%), independence (24%) and, still less, the abilities to empathize, temperament (10-12%), easy temper or sex appeal (5-7%).If women tend to lay more emphasis on decency when they talk about men (72%), then man value intellect and decency in themselves practically in the equal measure (66 and 64%). Women more than men would want to find attentiveness (54% and 23%), faithfulness (53% and 28%), thrift (47% and 34%) and the ability to empathize (15% and 7%) in the representatives of "sterner sex" but give less value to such harsh qualities as independence (14% and 36%), skill to resist hardships (25% and 33%).The main advantages of women are thrift (this quality is mentioned by 66% of respondents), followed by decency (58%), intellect, attentiveness, faithfulness (47-49% for each option), ability to empathize, easy temper (20-23%), less value is given to the skill to resist hardships, sex appeal (16% each), temperament and independence (7% each).Men more than women value in the representatives of "weaker sex" faithfulness (55% and 41%), easy temper (23% and 18%), sex appeal (22% and 10%), temperament (15% and 8%); but see less value in intellect (46% and 52%), decency (56% and 60%), ability to empathize (19% and 26%), the skill to resist hardships (10% and 21%) or independence (7% and 15%).The initiative All-Russia opinion poll was conducted by VCIOM on February 23-24, 2008. 1600 respondents were interviewed each time in 153 population areas of 46 regions of Russia. The statistical error does not exceed 3.4%.
