MOSCOW, February 18, 2008 Russian Public Opinion Research Center (VCIOM) presents a forecast of the voter turn out and results of the presidential elections on March 2 this year.

85.0% of respondents spoke of their probable participation in the presidential elections (cf.: 71% of respondents intended to vote in October 2007, 5 weeks before the elections to the State Duma of the Russian Federation). 9.2% of respondents are not planning to participate in the elections for President of the Russian federation. According to the forecast, calculated by VCIOM experts, the probable voter turn out on March 2 will total 68.5%.

As far as the election results are concerned, VCIOM expects the following outcome: 73.5% of the electorate will vote for Dmitry Medvedev, 13.5% will give their votes to Gennady Zyuganov, 11.6% will vote for Vladimir Zhirinovsky and 1.3% for Andrey Bogdanov.

The initiative all-Russia opinion poll was conducted by VCIOM on January 12-13, 19-20, 26-27 and February 2-3 and 9-10, 2007. 1600 respondents were interviewed in 153 population areas of 46 regions of Russia. The statistical error does not exceed 3.4%
