As before, Russians highly appreciate the performance of Shoigu (78%), Lavrov (56%) and Ivanov (42%).
MOSCOW, July 5, 2010. Russian Public Opinion Research Center (VCIOM) presents the rating of Russian Government Ministers.
Sergey Shoigu has most approval ratings among all Russian ministers: his work is assessed positively by 78% of respondents; and the share of such respondents has been increasing since March this year (from 73%). The second place is still held by Sergey Lavrov (56%), followed by the Deputy Prime Minister Sergey Ivanov (from 39 to 42%).
Rashid Nurgaliev is also among top popular Russian ministers, and his approval rating keeps growing (from 30% in March to 35% in June). More Russians approve of the work of Tatiana Golikova (from 31% in March to 34% in June), Anatoly Serdyukov (from 23 to 30% respectively), Alexey Kudrin (from 24% in May to 30% in June). Victor Zubkov`s performance is also evaluated positively (32%), but less positively than a year ago (in 2009 - 42%). More Russians express favorable views towards Alexandr Zhukov (from 18 to 23%), Igor Schegolev (from 15 to 20%), Dmitry Kozakh (from 17 to 20%), Alexandr Khloponin (from 15 to 20%).
Although Andrey Fursenko`s performance is disapproved by Russians (37% of negative views), the share of positive attitudes towards his work is gradually increasing (from 16% in March to 19% in June). The performance of Vitaly Mutko is assessed less negative (31% of negative assessments versus 39% in March), whereas the level of favorable views is increasing (from 11% in March to 18% in June). According to VCIOM Deputy Director General K.Abramov, "Post Olympics shock that had an impact on the rating of the Minister of Sport has almost passed away: his approval rating is increasing, and the number of negative attitudes decreasing". The performance of Elvira Nabiullina is also assessed in different ways: her work is negatively evaluated by 26%, but at the same time more and more Russians assess her performance positively (from 19% in March to 22% in June). This is followed by Viktor Khristenko (approved by 26%), Elena Skrinnik (25%), Yury Trutnev (24%), Sergei Shmatko (23%), Igor Levitin (22%), and Alexandr Konovalov (20%).
Least popular Russian government ministers are Igor Sechin (74% do not know who he is), Igor Shuvalov (70%), Sergei Sobyanin (69%), and Viktor Basargin (68%).
The initiative Russian opinion polls were conducted on June 26-27, 2010. 1600 respondents were interviewed at 140 sampling points in 42 regions of Russia. The margin of error does not exceed 3.4%.
