MOSCOW, August 29, 2007 Russian Public Opinion Research Center (VCIOM) presents information concerning how Russians treat the Agrarian Party, whether they would consider of voting for it during the elections to the State Duma and how they see the party's political future.

More than one half (54%) of Russians are informed of the Agrarian Party's political activity (including 3% who attentively follow its work and development and 51% who have heard something about it). 39% of respondents do not know anything about the party. Respondents aged 45 to 59 (62%) are better informed of APR's work than representatives of other age groups, especially if compared to young people of 18-24 years of age (43%).

14% of respondents sympathize with the Agrarian Party; this includes 2% of respondents who support the party and express their readiness to vote for it in the elections and 12% of respondents who sympathize with the party, but they are not sure whether they will vote for it. Those who treat the party negatively are less numerous and do not exceed 8%.

Every second respondent is indifferent to the party, and 29% of respondents find it difficult to provide their view of the party. The share of those, who treat the party positively, increases starting with 6% in Moscow and Saint Petersburg to 10-13% in other cities and reaches 19% in villages.

8% of respondents have voted for the party at least once in their life. 1% from them always vote for the party, 2% used to vote for it before, but not any more; and another 5% supported it in the selections once only. 9% of respondents have never voted for the party before, but are going to do it in the coming elections. 69% mention that just as they did not vote for the party before, they will not do this in these elections either. And 14% find it difficult to say exactly, whether they have ever voted for APR. The share of those who voted for the party at least once is the highest among residents of the rural area and amounts to 13%.

2% of the electorate state, that they will necessarily vote for the APR during the forthcoming elections ito the State Duma, another 19% say that they might vote for it. 28% of respondents are not likely to do it, and 37% do not even consider it an option to vote for the APR at all. APR has the most potential voters among the supporters of "Fair Russia", 25% of them are generally ready to give their voice to the Agrarian party; whereas among the supporters of "Unified Russia" and the Communist Party KPRF - 20-21% each, and LDPR - 16% do.

The opinions of respondents were divided as far as APR's future is concerned: 26% assume that this party has a chance to enter the next State Duma of the Russian Federation; 24% identify that the Agrarian Party will be able to send its representatives to the regional legislative assemblies. Another 21% do not see any political prospects for the party. 4% of respondents, on the contrary, expect APR to become the main and ruling party of the country. And 25% find it difficult to provide a forecast. Potential supporters of the Agrarian Party (those, who will surely or probably vote for it in the nearest elections to the State Duma) predict APR a happier future: 51% assume that it will be able to pass into the next State Duma, 17% identify that it will be represented in the regional legislative government, and 12% see it as the country's ruling party.

The All-Russia opinion poll was conducted by VCIOM on July 14-15 and July 28-29, 2007. 1600 respondents were interviewed in 153 population areas of 46 regions of Russia. The statistical error does not exceed 3.4%.
