Viktor K.Levashov is an expert in sociology and social technologies, political sociology, theory and applied research aspects of sustainable development of society.
Born in 1948 in Zaporozhie (Ukraine)
He graduated from the Moscow State Institute of International Relations (1975), completed his graduate studies at the Institute of Sociological Research USSR AS (1984). He has PhD in Philosophy (1985), and doctoral degree in Sociology (1997).
Viktor K. Levashov worked at the Ministry of Foreign Trade of the USSR; he was engineer and economist at the “Zaliv” Shipbuilding Yard in Kerch. From 1976 to 1991 he worked in the Crimea party bodies (Communist Party of the Soviet Union), where he dealt with public opinion studies` issues, organization and implementation of sociological studies, development of sociology.
Currently, Head of the Department for Strategic Social and Socio-Political Studies of the Institute of Socio-Political Studies RAS. Deputy Chief Editor of “Sotsiologicheskie Issledovaniya” Journal (Sociological Studies).
Research interests: theory of social and political process, theory of sustainable development of society, design and systematization of indicators of development of society, designing and ordering of social development indicators; social and economic transformation of society, methodological problems of studying the dynamics of socio-political situation; problems of social and economic reforms in Russia; impact of sociological context on the content and shape of reforms; theory and practice of development of civil society in Russia; theory and practice of Russia`s intellectual potential development and research.
Member of VCIOM`s Scientific and Expert Council since 2003.
