Russian Public Opinion Research Center (VCIOM) has recently celebrated  its 20th anniversary. Over two decades ago VCIOM was founded as the first opinion polling company, then in the USSR. During these years our country has gone through serious challenges, radical changes and cataclysms. However in any circumstances VCIOM was and still remains the main source of information about public opinion in Russia. We are proud of the fact that the phrase "according to the data from VCIOM" became a commonly used one. This word-combination  is usually followed by accurate and reliable information about thoughts, aspirations and desires of our fellow-citizens.

Opinion polls ordered by federal and regional public authorities as well as electoral and political research  remain the first-priority sphere of company's work area. At the same time two thirds of our clients are business corporations - both national and international

For many years VCIOM is not only the center of opinion polling, but is a diversified research full-service company.  Our research covers new fields of social behavior of Russians and countries of former Soviet Union. Actively and successfully VCIOM works in the sphere of trademark examination, brand and corporate research, research of media-dimensions, consumer behavior on various markets.

Over the previous 20 years the following acknowledged pioneers in sociology inestimably contributed to the formation of VCIOM: Tatiana Zaslavskaya, Boris Grushin, Yuri Levada.  Today their work continued by new generation of researchers. We stake on involvement of young professionals, constant expansion of methodological base, cooperation with leading domestic and foreign universities.

Dynamic development of business of our clients makes VCIOM to turn to regions and improve territorial structure of the company. By now VCIOM is a company with the widest coverage of regional research in our country. We opened VCIOM branches in all Federal Districts of Russia. We are aimed at close relations with our clients; providing them with in-depth study of political, social and economic processes in Russian regions.

Trying not to withdraw into itself VCIOM became cofounder of international research agency "Eurasian monitor" which works in countries of former Soviet Union. As participant of international network "Intersearch" VCIOM took the opportunity to operate in the interests of Russian clients and abroad  in 18 countries of the world including the USA, Germany, and France.  World is globalizing - and so is VCIOM.

Corporate identity of VCIOM is a mix of research traditions and new technologies, original approaches to problem solving. Complicated questions directed to us from our partners, customers, clients require intensive and creative work. Scientific and technological potential of VCIOM gives the keys to understanding which then can be converted to proper action. As our motto says: Information to win!
